#BrewYourStory: Decoding the Complexity

Updated: 6 hours ago

During my childhood, being a chai lover, coffee was always perceived as something that is unattainable luxury or something that is only available in weddings with a huge machine that made loud hissing noises which consisted of 99% Milk and only 1% Coffee powder.

That was the hurdle we had to clear, and Amit was there to make sure we leaped over it into a whole new world of flavor. We learned the history and the journey of coffee through a beautifully woven story. During the introduction phase we found out that, coincidently, Team Tea and Team Coffee were separated on the opposite sides of the table. This acted as a fun twist to the event and its activities moving ahead.

It was now time for the sensory experiences. We moved through rounds of taking in the aromas of different types of coffee followed by trying variants of types of brewing methods and instruments. Fancy names of the process, apparatus and price tags were flying throughout, showing the range that can be found from a single type of coffee bean. This made everyone wear the fancy expressions of true “connoisseurs”.

With every sip of freshly brewed coffee, the depth revealed itself. The answer to “How can the same batch of beans taste sooo different?” was gradually understood. The chai lovers were fascinated, while the coffee enthusiasts grinned with "I-told-you-so" pride.

The verdict? Coffee isn't just "umm…not bad”, it’s an art form.
