Tiramisu has a way of winning people over even before the first bite. It is rich, comforting, and carries a certain charm that makes it a favourite for many. So when we decided to host a tiramisu making workshop, we knew the expectations were already high. To match the mood of the dessert, we picked a beautiful space that felt just as layered and indulgent. The plan was simple in thought but ambitious in action. Everything would be made from scratch, from espresso dipped ladyfingers to the smooth mascarpone cream.
The moment we saw the ingredients and the step by step guide, a wave of nervousness hit the room. Most of us had never made tiramisu before, and the process looked intense at first glance. But as we began mixing, whisking, and following each step, things slowly started to make sense. Soon enough, a quiet sense of competition began to creep in as everyone wanted their dessert to turn out just right.

The turning point came when we started shaping the ladyfingers. Seeing them come together so neatly felt like a small win. As they went into the oven, the smell of freshly baked biscuits filled the space and instantly lifted everyone’s spirits. By the time we moved on to whipping the mascarpone cream, the energy had completely shifted. There was excitement, curiosity, and a growing belief that we were actually creating something special.

Then came the most satisfying part, assembling it all. Dipping the biscuits in coffee, layering them with the cream, and repeating the process felt almost therapeutic. A dusting of cocoa powder brought everything together, and suddenly each tray looked like something worth showing off. There were quick glances around the room, subtle comparisons, and a few taste tests that confirmed we had done better than expected.
By the end of it, what stayed with us was not just the dessert, but the appreciation for the effort behind it.
