#SculptStory 2026: When Our Community Got Their Hands Dirty

What is it about playing with clay that just… centers you? It’s more than just an activity; it's a moment to step away from the digital and reconnect with something primal, the joy of creating something real, something tangible, from a simple lump of earth. That was the magic we wanted to share when we hosted our pottery event with our incredible users.

We dove into the clay with two very distinct processes. First up was Hand Pinching. And let me tell you, this was an adventure in expectation vs. reality! Everyone started with a grand vision: a perfect pot, or a neatly shaped bowl. But the clay had its own personality, its own will. The designs we set out to make were never the end result. It was a beautiful chaos where pots suddenly became cups, and those aspiring cups hilariously morphed into unique key bowls. It was a lesson in letting go, laughing at the wobble, and loving the unexpectedness of it all. The charm of hand pinching is in its beautiful imperfections.

Then, we moved to the Pottery Wheel, which was a whole different experience: a total transformation in energy. Suddenly, the chaos gave way to silence. The wheel spins, the clay is centered, and it’s instantly therapeutic and calming. With just a simple touch and a little guidance, it was absolutely beautiful to watch the shapes bloom and rise from the spinning clay. It felt like a gentle dance, where precision was key, yet the process itself brought a sense of peace. By the end of the day, every single person walked away with two items they created with their own two hands.

It wasn't just a day of making things, it was a day of unmaking our expectations and remaking connections. Here's to more community, more creativity, and more dirt under our nails. See you at the next one!
